Helping Others
Over the years going through undergrad and grad school. I don’t know about a lot but a fair number of people have asked for my help as to how to get here and there figuratively speaking. I realize for myself I care about those people a lot so in a way I take on the burden myself and feel obligated that they accomplish their goal.
A lot of people are all talk and no action. I see it all the time whether its wanting to quit their job and move on in a different career or a simple as wanting to be healthier by working out and eating clean. It gets tiring giving people advice to those who don’t do anything about it. I’d rather not waste my breath if they can’t even help themselves.
The quote from Pursuit of Happyness says it best. “If you want something go get it…period.” If a change of career is really*** that important to you, you make it a priority. Nothing else matters (other than family/religion I can understand). I have a lot of respect to those who discipline themselves by setting a goal and not just talking about it but taking action despite obstacles and challenges. Shout out to two people going for their CPA and MCAT’s respectively, you know who are. I have no issue with people who would rather go out and drink than study. Or those who eat fast food everyday and dress in gym clothes but never go. Just don’t complain and whine later why you’re not where you’re at later on. “Omg I hate my job” then quit. “Omg I’m so fat” then stop eating. I’m more than happy to help anybody that asks and needs it but don’t bother me if you can’t even help yourselves…I’m not a miracle worker.
